Forensic Accounting & Investigations Associate - Immediate (National)
JOB SUMMARY:
The Associate is responsible for assisting with various forensic accounting engagements including monitorships, fraud investigations, damages and lost profits calculations, post-acquisition disputes, white collar crime, compliance, among other matters. The Associate will be responsible for performing various tasks on these engagements, including compiling, and analyzing documents and data, participating in site inspections and interviews, performing transactional reviews, preparing supporting calculations, and summarizing findings into written reports and memorandum.
JOB DUTIES:
Interacts with client personnel and attorneys, as well as Federal and local government agencies, as necessary
Prepares document requests listings and creates indices of documents received from various parties/stakeholders
Analyzes claims and opinions made by opposing parties in litigation or disputes
Identifies relevant business documents in connection with estimation of damages in litigation matters
Assists in drafting reports of findings and the preparation of demonstrative data visualizations such as tables, exhibits, and charts
Attends depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses to assist counsel with questioning
Partners with client attorneys to aid in trial preparation and preparation of expert witnesses for testimony
Assists senior staff in preparing for and conducting interviews, testing transactions, reviewing documents and records, performing research, and other related steps in investigations
Traces transactions and activity in financial statements and other financial documents, such as bank and brokerage account statements
Analyzes financial and operational data and trends
Summarizes legal documents, such as complaints and depositions
Supports the compilation and analysis of facts to formulate, substantiate, and/or critique allegations
Communicates with senior team members regarding project status and technical issues
Researches new business opportunities at the direction of practice leadership
Performs other duties as required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, required or eligible to sit for the CPA exam upon starting employment, required
MBA or other relevant advanced degree, preferred
EXPERIENCE:
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Eligible to sit for the CPA exam upon starting employment, required
CPA, preferred
Other advanced certification (Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Financial Analyst, Certified in Financial Forensics), preferred
SOFTWARE:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), required
Knowledge of Smartsheet and/or Microsoft Visio, preferred
LANGUAGE:

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent judgment and prioritization skills
Ability and willingness to travel as needed, required
Strong analytical and research skills related to the retrieval and organization of high volumes of information
Strong organizational skills, with a focus on details and the ability to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently and/or within a group environment
Ability to work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment with flexibility and adaptability to change
Capable of working well under pressure while dealing with unexpected problems in a professional manner

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
California Range: $55,000 - $100,000
New York City/ Valhalla Range: $55,000 - $100,000
Washington Range: $55,000 - $100,000
