Job Summary:
Interns will join a thriving Privacy & Data Protection group that continues to grow its Industry Data Protection practice, focused on providing industry-centric privacy and data protection solutions to mid-market organizations. Successful candidates are highly motivated, organized, willing to learn on the job, and can interact with professionals at all levels. Successful candidates will have interest in being trained to assist with technical tasks, project management tasks, learning the fundamentals of data privacy, and would like to build their professional experience through working on multiple project aspects across engagement teams.
Job Duties:
- Participates in conducting maturity assessments based on privacy regulations and frameworks
- Participates in developing client policies and procedures for data protection and privacy
- Participates in conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) of client systems, processing activities, and vendors
- Provides support for the processing of data subject requests
- Participates in developing privacy processing registers
- Manages individual project responsibilities and tasks to deliver high quality and timely deliverables
- Attends and documents client meetings/interviews and internal meetings with clear and concise notes
- Assists project team with developing status reports and client reports, including findings and recommendations
- Conducts research on industry-focused privacy regulations
- Budgets time and assists with multiple project requests simultaneously
- Monitors individual project tasks and risks
- Travels as necessary
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program, required
- Coursework focused in privacy, data management, and/or compliance, preferred
- Coursework focused in industries such as life sciences, healthcare, financial services, and/or non-profit, preferred
- Enrolled in an MBA or JD program, preferred
Experience:
- Internships, externships, or professional experience with privacy, data management, and/or compliance, preferred
- Experience working within a national consulting organization, preferred
- Education/experience with industry-centric operations such as for life sciences, healthcare, financial services, and/or non-profit, preferred
- Education/experience with HIPAA, HITRUST, ISO 27001/27701, NIST Privacy Framework, or NIST CSF Framework, preferred
Software:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, required
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, preferred
