JOB SUMMARY:
BDO is a place for energetic self-starters who can think of creative solutions for problems facing the Assurance Practice. As an Intern in our Audit Data Analytics practice, you will begin to utilize your educational background as well as your organizational skills as you help to improve the firm’s audit data analytics tools and templates.
You will assist in problem solving and fact-finding, working side-by-side with more experienced team members who can provide direction, coaching and learning opportunities.
This internship will give you an early start in building the technology skills that are increasingly vital to the accounting profession, by learning data analytics tools and becoming familiar with the firm’s internal processes for developing and managing technology. This opportunity will allow you to gain a unique hands-on perspective on our firm’s practices and people, as well as beginning to forge the critical relationships that will help maximize your chance for success in your career.
JOB DUTIES:
Develops updates to existing Microsoft Power BI analytics based on guidance and support from the Audit Data Analytics team
Filters, cleans, and prepares data sets in Microsoft Power BI for advanced transformations
Uses Microsoft Power BI and advanced features of MS Excel in developing and maintaining tools and templates
Contributes ideas/opinions to the Audit Data Analytics team and listens/responds to other team members’ views
Becomes familiar with BDO’s Audit Data Analytics methodology
Gathers and organizes data for presentations
Assists in preparing information and researches materials for assigned tasks
Provides general administrative support, as needed
Participates in special projects and perform other duties, as required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
EDUCATION:
Enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or another relevant field, required
Pursuing a Masters degree in Accounting or another relevant field, preferred
Coursework on statistics or data analytics, preferred
EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated leadership experience through campus activities, educational forums and/or prior work experience, preferred
Data Analytics or other related exposure, preferred
SOFTWARE:
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, preferred
Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau, preferred

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
California Range: $31.00/hr - $39.00/hr
New York City/ Valhalla Range: $32.00/hr - $36.00/hr
Washington Range: $31.00/hr - $39.00/hr
