Job Description Summary The PCAOB has a position for an Intern, Attorney in the Division of Enforcement and Investigations at its Washington, DC headquarters office. This role provides support by assisting the Divisions attorneys and accountants with legal research and writing, developing investigative strategies, the collection and analysis of financial and non-financial information, the organization of documents, and other areas related to investigating and bringing cases against registered accounting firms and their associated persons. In addition, the intern will assist the team on various projects as needed. The intern will be supervised by a seasoned team of attorneys and accountants. Responsibilities -Conduct legal and other research using subscription database services and the Internet; -Draft legal memoranda on various legal issues impacting the Divisions execution of its statutory mandate; -Create reports for use by the Divisions attorneys and accountants; -Assist attorneys and accountants with projects on an as-needed basis; -Collect and analyze financial and non-financial information; and -Perform other duties and special projects as needed. -Requirements -Qualifications -Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college; -Law student currently in their first or second year of an accredited law school; -Proficient with Microsoft software applications, legal research databases such as LexisNexis® or Westlaw®, as well as the Internet; -Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, co-workers, and external parties; -Solid time management, organization, and prioritization skills; -Ability to meet deadlines and make effective decisions; -Ability to multi-task, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible; and -Ability to work with limited supervision.
