Job Description Summary The Boards Office of General Counsel, located in Washington, D.C., is interested in hiring an intern for the summer of 2019. The Office of General Counsel provides legal advice and counsel to the Board concerning the Boards exercise of its authority over registration, inspections, enforcement and investigation, and standard-setting, as well as organizational and procedural matters. The intern would work with one or more of the Offices 16 lawyers and paralegals on a variety of appropriate projects. These could include assisting attorneys with research, assisting in preparing and maintaining records of Board action, assisting in administration of the Boards document retention policy. An attempt will be made to expose the intern to as many kinds of legal issues as possible, even ones on which he or she is not working directly. Responsibilities -Assist in preparing and maintaining records of Board action -Assist in the administration of the PCAOBs document retention policy. -Assist attorneys and paralegals on projects as needed. -Conduct research on a variety of legal and related matters. -Requirements -Qualifications -A student at an accredited university or college with an interest or major in law, policy, or a related major. -Excellent oral and written communications skills. -Solid time management, organization, and prioritization skills. -Willingness to work as a team member. -Ability to be flexible, work independently and be self-motivated. -Proficient with Microsoft software applications and use of the Internet (exposure to SharePoint a plus, but not required). -Knowledge of accounting or auditing is not required.
