Spray Technician – Landscaping Company (Jacksonville, FL)

A locally owned, family‑operated landscaping company serving residential and commercial clients since 1989 is seeking an experienced Spray Technician to join our growing team. We provide full turnkey services including landscaping, maintenance, irrigation, and fertilization—all under one roof.

Role Overview:

The Spray Technician is responsible for applying fertilization, weed control, and lawn pest treatments to maintain healthy, attractive turf and landscapes. This role involves diagnosing turf and ornamental issues, safely mixing and applying chemical treatments, operating spray equipment, and ensuring all work complies with safety and environmental regulations while delivering high-quality results for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled fertilization, weed control, and lawn pest treatments
• Identify, diagnose, and treat turf and ornamental issues efficiently in the field
• Safely operate trucks, sprayers, tractors, and other application equipment
• Prepare, mix, apply, and properly dispose of chemical agents in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
• Maintain accurate records, work orders, chemical inventories, and reports
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to standards
• Maintain clean, organized equipment, vehicles, and work areas

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent training/experience preferred)
• Ability to read and follow safety rules, product labels, and operating instructions
• Strong observational and problem‑solving skills
• Good hand dexterity and comfort with physical, labor-intensive work
• Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
• Valid driver’s license required

Physical & Work Requirements:

• Ability to walk long distances, pull hoses, and lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to climb, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods
