Job Summary:

As an Intern in our practice, you will be able to utilize your educational background as well as your organizational skills as you serve the firm's dynamic client base. You will assist in problem solving and fact-finding research working side-by-side with more experienced team members who can provide you with direction, coaching and learning opportunities. You will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of real estate valuation by working on various stages of a consulting engagement, including areas of specialized valuation for owner occupied and multi-tenant properties specific to financial reporting.

Job Duties:

• Assists in the creation of BDO valuation assignments by providing research and due diligence for real estate valuations and reviews
• Assists with performing data analysis on large datasets through mass appraisal techniques
• Assists with preparation of client deliverables
• Researches property specific details and manages internal records
• Assists in structuring the required documentation associated with the consulting assignment
• Abstract legal documents associated with the transfers of ownership and leased properties
• Assists in the loading of client data into databases to perform analysis
• Cross references data amongst various sources
• Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Program in Real Estate, Business, Accounting, Economics, or Finance, required
• Pursuing a Master’s degree in Business, or Real Estate, preferred

Experience:

• Leadership experience, preferred

License/Certifications:

• Real estate appraisal certification coursework, preferred

Software:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, required
• Strong Knowledge of Excel modeling, preferred

Language:

• N/A

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to follow instructions as directed
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as autonomously
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Basic understanding of real estate

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

California Range: $20.00/hr - $39.00/hr
New York City/ Valhalla Range: $20.00/hr - $36.00/hr
Washington Range: $20.00/hr - $39.00/hr
