    Collins Aerospace is looking to hire an entry-level engineer to support programs focused on radio transmitters and antenna systems that enable critical military communication capabilities. This role will support electrical test activities and work closely with test technicians to assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis during the assembly, test, and acceptance processes for Collins products.

    This is an onsite role in Richardson, TX. This role is eligible for relocation.

    What You will Do

    • Provides technical support and interpretation of drawings and product specifications to assist in the assembly, inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of moderately complex products (circuit card through top level) within assigned work areas under moderate supervision.
    • Collaborates with Design Engineering, Test Engineering, Component Application Engineers, and other Manufacturing Electrical Engineers to support implementation of design changes and sustainment activities for released products and ongoing project objectives.
    • Coordinates with design engineering on minor product and test equipment updates to address obsolete parts, tolerance concerns, and yield issues, including supporting associated drawing changes and documentation updates.
    • Assists in generating and maintaining test documentation and evaluating test equipment and process flows to improve test effectiveness, efficiency, and day-to-day operational performance.
    • Supports training of test technicians on new products and test equipment and contributes to development of test fixtures, troubleshooting aids, and process improvements within the work area.
    • Participates in analyzing test failures to identify root causes and corrective actions and assists in preparation of failure analysis reports. May support minor improvements to existing card test fixtures and equipment to improve test flow and effectiveness.
    • Evaluates Customer Returned Goods (CRG) activity to support efficient repair and return of units and assists in analyzing failure data for trends and recurring issues within area of responsibility.
    • Identifies opportunities for producibility and process improvements by analyzing tolerance limits, design margins, test specifications, and test yield issues using standard procedures and engineering judgment.
    • Assists in analyzing and developing test strategy and process flow for individual LRUs or systems while considering capacity, workflow efficiency, and capital cost objectives.
    • Supports evaluation, selection, and recommendation of capital test equipment using sound

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    • Typically requires a University Degree and less than 2 years prior relevant experience

    Qualifications We Prefer:

    • Domain knowledge of test processes and experience with commercial test equipment for RF/Microwave hardware, Digital hardware, Analog hardware, or software development.
    • Experience with programming languages Visual Studio, LabWindows/CVI, LabVIEW, Test Stand, and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
    • Background and/or knowledge of Military Platform Integration
    • Background and/or knowledge in RF communications, networking, and interface definition

    The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
