What You Will Do

The ARINC GLOBAL Network (AGN) system is comprised of several private data centers and connects to the far reaches of the globe, in almost every country providing aviation, airport, government, and transportation connectivity. AGN provides private networking in a highly reliable, secure and available world-wide network architecture for Collins Aerospace IMS mission critical aviation, transportation, and airports customers.

The successful intern will serve as a member of the AGN Network Engineering team responsible for and engaging in the design, development, testing and evaluation of network security and communication technologies, products, and solutions in support of the ARINC Global Network. Candidate must have some familiarity with cybersecurity/security methodologies and concepts and technologies as they apply to network and cloud infrastructures. The candidate will be responsible for collaborating with Corporate Security Teams for the planning, development, implementation and management of the overall AGN system security strategy. Candidate must be highly motivated, able to work in a collaborative team environment, as well as independently.

• You will serve as a technical member on projects that contain moderate to highly complex environments, utilizing high availability concepts.
• You will collaborate with other members of the Engineering team in the development of technical design solutions.
• You will capture, analyze, decompose and create requirements for infrastructure security systems, products and subsystems of moderate complexity.
• You will use an interdisciplinary approach, focusing on customer needs and business requirements, to design, develop, document, test and maintain network security systems ranging from the straightforward to moderately complex.
• You will conduct threat and vulnerability analysis, risk mitigation, information assurance, penetration testing.
• You will apply Security/Cybersecurity methodologies to network and systems design to provide secure services that support business requirements and ensure information security.
• You will provide post-fielding support, resolving operational issues involving L2 and L3, in a multi-routing network infrastructure.
• You will be working collaboratively onsite in our Annapolis, MD facility.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
• Experience in IP Networks, and network management concepts.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a productive and committed work effort, meeting deadlines and managing workload.
• Must be able to use independent judgment to make decisions in day-to-day job responsibilities most of the time, under general supervision.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
