787 Fuselage LCPT Entry Level Structural Design Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION QUALIFICATIONS:
Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking Entry Level STRUCTURAL DESIGN ENGINEERSin NORTH CHARLESTON, SC to support the Fuselage Structures Life cycle product team (LCPT). As part of the LCPT Structures team - Design responsibilities could include either Aft body, Mid Body Integration, Final assembly, common architecture and/or Partner oversight. Additional responsibility could include production support as part of the Factory Support Control Centers (FSCC) that are aligned to the manufacturing business units. You will be part of a high-performing team that is immersed in development projects in support of the 787 Production System. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of aircraft and sub-system designs and collaborate with leaders throughout the organization to pave the way in creating a well-integrated and optimized design.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with documentation of structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
Assists with development, maintenance and modification of payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
Assists with tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Assists with management of supplier development, test and production activities to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
Works under close supervision.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILL/EXPERIENCE):
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Experience with CATIA or similar CAD software
Experience as an intern with design or analysis
TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
