Cabin and Netowrk Systems Connected Cargo Entry Level Systems Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION QUALIFICATIONS:
Boeing Commercial Airplanes in Everett, WA is seeking an ENTRY LEVEL CABIN AND NETWORK SYSTEM, SYSTEMS ENGINEER to join the team in defining and integrating airplane electrical systems across our commercial fleet. All projects center on the translation of concepts and high-level requirements to specific architectures and operational specifications including the physical integration of electrical systems and components into our complex airplanes. Work with a worldwide supplier base to implement system hardware and software. Validate designs through both laboratory and airplane testing. Work with aircraft systems from initial concept through certification, delivery, and through their production life. We are continually evolving the state of the art in commercial air transport. This position will be assigned to work with the Connected Cargo Team which is developing a variety of connectivity-based technologies to support monitoring, collecting, and tracking data regarding the condition and status of cargo onboard both current and future model Airplane freighters.

The Systems Engineer (SE) applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify basic life-cycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Having a working knowledge of system development methods will also be a benefit. Ideally having experience working on or with a development project, and having interacted with multi-skilled engineering disciplines is a preference. Successful candidates will have demonstrated their ability for technical leadership, be willing to challenge the status-quo, and thrive in loosely structured environments.
THIS POSITION ALLOWS TELECOMMUTING. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position is located in EVERETT OR SEATTLE, WASHINGTON
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Define System Architecture,
Research Suppliers and Technologies,
Perform RF studies of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth/Bluetooth-low-energy spectrums
End-to-end System Prototyping and Experimentation
Support airplane program provisioning via Trade Studies
Draft and validate T1 - T3 Supplier Requirements
Develop System models using CAMEO and model-based systems engineering.
Develop Lab test software and applications supporting prototype testing.
Support Airplane Program Integration
Demonstration Testing on Eco Demonstrator Platform.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry by end of December 2022.
ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Experience working or leading development projects.
Exposure to writing system requirements.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams at multiple organizational levels in dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Critical thinking skills; ability to work in agile, flexible team environment.
