BR&T is seeking multiple high-performing, collaborative Composites Engineers to join our Composite Materials Fabrication Site in Mesa, Arizona. We are looking for a broad range of experience including Entry-Level, Associate, and Mid-Level Composite Engineers.
Our Materials and Processes Technology (M&PT) Department of Boeing Rotorcraft's Mesa, Arizona facility, is seeking an experienced Materials and Processes (M&P) Engineer. The Composite Materials and Processes (M&P) Engineer will work with Composites and Nonmetallic group and will apply knowledge of materials and processes in various engineering and manufacturing disciplines. M&P skill areas include chemicals, solvents, finishes, prepregs, adhesives, primers, polymers, epoxies and elastomers, among others. This engineer will work in the office, laboratory and factory to support the evaluations noted above. This engineer will be coordinating with other skill areas as needed. Other skill areas within the M&P team are metals, adhesives, electronics, coatings, and nondestructive evaluations.

Position Responsibilities:
Collects information to support definition of requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the manufacture and engineering design of product
Communicates with technical and non-technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables
Incorporates changes to specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of materials, parts and processes
Performs tests to qualify new tools, equipment, suppliers, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements
Assists with activities to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements
Transition of material and process lab qualification data and requirements to efficient and effective manufacturing processes
Conducts basic analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures of tools, materials, parts or processes
Assists in implementing corrective and preventive actions
Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements. Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

1+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
1+ years of experience working with composites
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Chemistry or other related engineering/science disciplines
Experience working in a composite materials, engineering or scientific laboratory
Experience with composites and elastomers and associated processing techniques
Experience with adhesive materials (i.e. epoxy, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, etc.) and processes
Experience with composite and elastomer failure modes (structural and nonstructural) and analysis for materials, processes and parts
Experienced reading drawings and using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)
Experience working independently with some guidance from more experienced engineers and scientists
Strong written and verbal skills with experience to effectively work within an Integrated Product Team environment
Comfort working in an environment of change and in support of multiple programs, internal and external customers, technical challenges, and deadlines
Typical Education/Experience:
Entry-Level (Level 1)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Associate (Level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Mid-Level (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
