  • Responsibilities

    WayUp is the largest community where college students and recent grads can find part-time jobs, internships, and full-time jobs. We also have an amazing blog, and we’re looking for smart, motivated students (like you!) to write for it.

    WayUp’s Editorial Contributor Program is perfect for college students who want a serious deep-dive into editorial work, media, and blogging. You’ll have the opportunity to work one-on-one with an editor, get professional development training specifically for people wanting to work in communications, and meet influential people in the industry.

    Responsibilities:

    • Write 2 posts (roughly 600+ words) per month for our blog on topics including (but certainly not limited to) college lifestyle, productivity, career advice, career-oriented pop culture, and more.

    • Pitch 12-15 stories ideas per month.

    • Share articles on social media.

    • Participate in monthly professional development sessions.

    • Keep in consistent contact with our team.

  • Qualifications

    We're looking for college students with the following:

    • Must have at least a semester’s worth (3-4 months) of experience writing regularly (2-4 times per month) for another publication. We’re looking for people who understand the basic writing process and have experience brainstorming, outlining, and writing stories. Writing for a school newspaper or your personal blog counts!

    • Must be proficient in the English language and have a strong grasp of grammar and style.

    • Have serious interest in the fields of media, journalism, and communications.

  • Desired skills

    Writing/blogging, grammar/spelling, time management

  • Compensation
    - Work one-on-one with an editor who’s been published on Forbes, TIME, Fast Company, Teen Vogue, and ELLE in recent months to produce high-quality writing clips you can take anywhere. - Join monthly professional development sessions. - Meet influential people in the media, journalism, and communications industries. - Receive a letter of recommendation and reference. - Get a guaranteed first-round interview for WayUp internships.
