    JOB DESCRIPTION QUALIFICATIONS:

    The Boeing Electrical Engineering Core Group is seeking ENTRY LEVEL ELECTROMAGNETIC EFFECTS DESIGN AND ANALYSIS ENGINEERS.

    THIS POSITION REQUIRES THE CANDIDATE TO WORK OUT OF HUNTSVILLE, AL.

    Huntsville Electromagnetic Effects Group is seeking entry-level electromagnetic effects engineers. The candidate will start their career growth by working with experienced engineers to assist providing engineering and technical decisions for Space Launch System (SLS). Main area of focus will be Electromagnetic Environment Effects (E3) analysis and testing, assessment of E3 conditions and Survivability assessments at the SLS development site in Huntsville. Assignments will provide an excellent opportunity to learn aircraft electromagnetics effect on the various platforms.

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

    • Coordinate, test, and verify EMI/EMC requirements with teammates, customers, and system architects through development and sustainment

    • Assist in the development of EMI/EMC Control Plans, Test Procedures, and Test Reports

    • Perform EMI/EMC analyses and implement mitigation mechanisms to assure compatibility and safety of new and existing systems and interfaces

    • Perform the evaluation of supplier data and design drawings to verify and correct system design to EMI/EMC standards

    • Perform EMI/EMC testing of hardware and software systems in both lab and on-aircraft environments to verify adherence to Boeing and FAA and/or Military requirements

    • Support project management by tracking and reporting project status, by generating bids and requirements, and by providing work statement, budget, and schedule

    OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

    • Perform Nuclear Hardening, HIRF/Lightning, RF COSITE, and Antenna Coupling analyses and test

    • Assist in the development and implementation of Test Automation for aircraft modifications

    • Apply EMI engineering technology experience to document and solve complex problems

    • Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analyses to predict component, interconnects, and system performance and to optimize design

    • Apply conversion, correction, and antenna factors to EMI/EMC analyses and test

    • Work on a cross-functional support team and communicate clearly in various review boards both internally & externally

    This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

    This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

    • Bachelor’s, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry by June 2022.

    • Experience with Electromagnetic concepts (such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering)

    • Capable to travel 25% of the time

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in ABET accredited course of study in engineering or engineering technology

    • Have or have held an active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months

    • Engineering Experience with EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility, EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) or E3 (Electromagnetic Environmental Effects)

    • Experience or coursework in analog/digital signal processing

    • Experience with MatLab/Simulink

    • Experience with PSpice or other SPICE-based simulation tool

    • Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD package

    • Experience with MS Office tool suite

    • Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written) to key stakeholders

    TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

    • In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
