    JOB DESCRIPTION QUALIFICATIONS:

The Boeing Company is currently seeking ENGINEERING CAB (ECAB) SYSTEMS & INTEGRATION ENGINEERS, to join the Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) Team in SEATTLE, WA. This position will support the BT&E Lab Test Northwest, Systems Laboratories organization.

These roles will work with our team of amazing software and hardware engineers and technicians who design, build, operate and maintain our engineering flight deck simulators, or “eCabs”, as well as a one-of-a-kind motion-based simulator. These labs are replicas of Boeing commercial airplane flight decks used for a variety of testing.

CAB INTEGRATORS are the primary customer-facing engineers that supports each test session in our eCabs. They support a wide variety of testing and troubleshooting of simulation software, flight deck hardware, and support systems within our facilities.

CAB SYSTEMS engineers design, build and support a myriad of complex electro-mechanical hardware and software systems designed to convince pilots and avionics systems that they are flying in a Boeing aircraft and not in a stationary test facility. These include the high-fidelity out-the-window visuals systems and a pilot control force feedback system.

Be part of our passionate and highly motivated team who are excited to be developing the newest Boeing airliners and supporting all those that have come before. If you love computers, simulation, and airplanes, this is the place for you!

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Powering up the lab and ensure all systems are responding.

    • Configuring the flight hardware / simulation software models as requested, and ensuring the systems are responding on the busses and the lab is ready.

    • Preparing any data collection needs for the test team.

    • Assisting the test teams in performing their tests / flying the airplane as needed.

    • Being present and providing the testers with a deep knowledge of both airplane and eCab systems to rapidly solve problems encountered during testing.

    • Developing expertise in one or more cab systems including: high fidelity out-the-window visuals; pilot controls loading; motion systems; aural systems; weather, air traffic (TCAS) and radio simulations; heads up and heads down displays; or audio/visual display systems.

    • Learning our simulation code and being responsible for assigned models, testing and submitting models on time for simulation release dates.

    • Ensuring the hardware and software systems are maintained and calibrated for use in our simulators.

    • Working with supplier management and procurement to order parts and spares for new and sustaining programs.

    • Ensuring our computing systems are upgraded and are maintained.

    • Maintaining configuration control of the cab systems throughout our labs.
