Entry Level F-15 Avionics Lab Design and Analysis Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION QUALIFICATIONS:
THE BOEING COMPANY is seeking an ENTRY LEVEL ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS DESIGN AND ANALYSIS ENGINEER. This position involves joining a specialized Boeing Test & Evaluation engineering team supporting F-15 tactical fighter aircraft flight test activities on-site at EGLIN AFB, FL. The Richter Lab is an aircraft integration and test facility supporting the F-15C/E/EX flight test community for the United States Air Force at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, which is located in the panhandle of Northwest Florida.
Principal responsibilities will include collaborating within a small group of dedicated Engineers to support the test and evaluation of experimental electronics/avionics, aircraft sensors, weapon/armament systems, and software operating systems. The ideal candidate will have aircraft avionics experience.

In this position you will have an opportunity to design and develop new data tools/algorithms used to evaluate the latest electronic and weapons systems Boeing and other contractors have created for integration onto F-15 fighter aircraft. You will be provided with self-paced on-site training, and structured hands-on experience to aid in becoming a Subject Matter Expert on a variety of aircraft/weapons/sensor systems. These projects will include onboard fire control radar systems, electronic jammers, RF and IR sensors, onboard core computing systems, radar and IR guided missiles, control systems, jet engines, satellite navigation/communication systems, and encrypted aircraft data networks.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop internal software tools for use by lab and flight test functions to enable real-time monitoring of aircraft avionics data, sensor data, and weapons data
Develop technical documentation to guide future software engineering tool development projects
Develops and documents moderately complex electronic and electrical system requirements
Design algorithms and flowcharts to create new software tools to meet engineering requirements
Designs hardware, software and interface specifications.
Analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware, and software designs and interface specifications
Integrate software tools into hardware utilized to translate avionics bus data for lab test systems monitoring
Integrate software into hardware utilized to translate test aircraft telemetry data for flight test control room systems monitoring
Test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
Train software tools operators on the operational use of the tools for lab and flight testing
Perform installations/testing of updated tools to lab and flight test control room locations
Support fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
Support lab and flight test control room avionics/sensor/weapons test efforts
Observe user feedback to recommend improvements to existing software engineering tools
Assists in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
Solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Experience in C++ software development in a Windows operation system environment
Experience with programming skills in scripting languages, C++, C#
Experience in graphical user interface (GUI) design
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Have or held an active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months
Experience engineering in a lab environment
Experience with avionics and aircraft systems
Knowledge of standard Avionics system data standards desired. (Ethernet hardware layer, Ethernet IPV4 layer, Mil-STD-1553, FIBER, serial data (RS232, RS422), IRIG-106 standards (Chapter10, 11, 4)).
Experience communicating with internal and external customers
Experience with various computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
Experience do you have working in a laboratory and/or test environment
Experience adjusting plans and applying creative thinking solutions in a rapidly changing environment.
Ability to collaborate with engineers to identify software requirements and specifications.
Classroom or work related experience with Software Engineering. Ability to troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and improve existing software engineering tools.
