    Job Description Qualifications:

    The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking an Entry Level Flight Test Engineer to join our team in Eglin AFB, FL. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing on-site F-15 tactical fighter aircraft flight test activities. The work location will be co-located within the F-15 flight test Combined Test Force (CTF) squadron and will require working closely with United States Air Force (USAF) personnel to assist with the new systems under development and daily flight test missions.

    The selected candidate will be routinely involved in a wide variety of different and interesting projects and advanced technology systems being integrated onto F-15 fighter aircraft. These test programs will allow you to get hands-on with cutting edge technology where innovative problem solving is embraced. Additionally, you will be provided with self-paced on-site training, and structured hands-on experience, to aid in becoming a Subject Matter Expert on a variety of aircraft systems - which will include onboard radar systems, electronic jammers, onboard computing systems, radar and IR guided missiles, control systems, satellite navigation/communication systems, and encrypted aircraft data networks. You will also develop an understanding of test planning, test profile design, flight card creation, aircraft Operational Flight Program (OFP) development processes, Agile software development methods, and system problem documentation procedures. Additionally, you will also be provided with opportunities to develop new Data Analysis applications based on Machine Learning and Digital system performance models to aid in the automation and evaluation of these systems. Eglin AFB is located in the panhandle of Northwest Florida - less than 10 miles from the white sand beaches, water sports, and other outdoor activities of the Gulf Coast.

    Once fully trained, occasional off-site support for meetings and deployed flight testing will also be required (primarily to St. Louis, MO, Holloman AFB, and Nellis AFB).

    Position Responsibilities Include:

    • Aircraft test configuration planning and records keeping
    • Write and review test plan documents
    • Assist with test point selection, execution planning, and status tracking for specific test missions
    • Assist with test mission resource selections and coordination (targets, ranges, airspace, stores, weapons, etc.)
    • Assist with the creation of test mission flight profiles and test pass setup requirements
    • Assist with short and long range flight test mission schedule coordination
    • Write and review test mission aircrew flight cards
    • Attend and provide technical information at aircrew pre/post mission briefings
    • Provide real-time technical support during test flights from a ground control facility
    • Write and submit test item Problem Reports and participating in adjudication reviews/meetings
    • Write various technical results reports to document test results and program activities
    • Perform on-aircraft system checkouts, mission media prep, and media loading/downloading
    • Perform on-aircraft troubleshooting of experimental systems for anomaly investigations and resolution
    • Perform post-mission data analysis and test point scoring
    • Perform and support Test Program Management tasks: hosting meetings, milestone tracking, equipment tracking, coordinating test activities, creating and briefing weekly test execution metrics, etc.
    • Report program execution status at weekly Customer meetings and generating program tracking metrics
    • Attend and participate in Program Review meetings (ITT, PMR, TPWG; Road Map, Executive Reviews, etc.)
    • Attend and participate in flight test review boards (CCB, ATR/SB, HRB, FTRR, etc.)
    • Review and make inputs into Mission Planning and pre-mission Data Module programming (JMPS, DTM, DRMM systems)

    This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

    This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

    This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
    • Willing and able to travel occasionally to support customer needs

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • Experience in a variety of hands-on engineering roles
    • Experience in developing and managing metrics and RCCA’s

    Typical Education/Experience:

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Summary pay range: $66,300 - $89,700
