Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently seeking an Entry Level Manufacturing Engineer to become part of the Tactical Aircraft (TacAir) Spares Engineering Team in St. Louis, Missouri at the Hazelwood location.
The Tactical Aircraft (TacAir) Spares Engineering Team is a multidisciplined engineering team that supports the post-production aircraft fleets with technical requirements for the fabrication and procurement of spare parts. Tactical Aircraft supported currently includes F-15, F/A-18, T-7, AV-8B, T-45, A-10, MQ-25, & C-17. If you see one of these aircraft flying, this team has likely helped provide it with a spare part. This team is within the Support & Specialty Supply Chain Engineering organization within BGS.
TacAir Spares Engineering is preparing for significant growth over the next 5 years and the successful candidate will help grow with the organization and be empowered to implement innovative solutions. The team consists of both Manufacturing Engineers and Design Engineers, with opportunities to potentially change disciplines based on your interest.

The candidate selected must be able to work in a cross-functional work environment including engineering, supply chain, quality, product support, suppliermanagement, contracts, finance, etc.
Position is for post-production Manufacturing Engineering support. The candidate selected will review and generate technical data packages for spares proposals and fabrication. Technical data and tools are used to manufacture military aircraft spare parts and assemblies located in Boeing or at sub-tier suppliers. Success enables Program Management and our internal / external Supply Chain to deliver spare parts to customer fleets.
Position Responsibilities:

Read 2D and 3D part definition that utilizes Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Read definition notes, specifications, requirements, and other technical documentation to ensure manufacturability of spare parts.
Utilize a pre-prepared guide & checklist to perform Spare Parts requirements reviews during the Quotes & Orders processes. (Approximately 10 quotes/orders per day.)
Build technical data packages for use by suppliers.
Develop and implement manufacturing plans.
Analyze design and build concepts to evaluate a producible definition and investigate alternative solutions to meet producibility requirements.
Contracts supported are typically transactional contracts or Performance Based Logistics (PBL) contracts.
Learn and implement a variety of processes and procedures.
Help achieve operational goals and metrics for "On Time Delivery" and "First Time Quality"
Speak up if you see an issue or opportunity to do things better.
Participate in training and development plans
Develop employee engagement activities to motivate and engage the workforce.
Perform in a fast-paced, diverse work environment
Work in a cross-functional work environment including engineering, manufacturing/operations, quality, product support, finance, business development and program management.
Ask questions before submitting work if uncertain of a process.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

Experience in Aerospace Engineering
Experience supporting Military/Defense customers
Experience with engineering processes, regulatory and post production support
Formal leadership positions held in work,volunteer,or extracurricular organizations (e.g. manager, club officer, mentor).
