As a key technical leader, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the design, testing, and certification of propulsion components and subsystems, ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance.     Position Responsibilities:

    • Assists in the definition of requirements for propulsion system components used in vehicle cryogenic fuel / oxidizer, bi-prop / mono-prop, pneumatic, hydraulic or pyrotechnic systems

    • Assists in defining, coordinating and controlling the functional and physical interfaces between the components within the propulsion system

    • Assists in developing and maintaining envelope drawings (EDs) / component specifications for associated vehicle components to meet customer and regulatory requirements Includes processing of engineering changes and subsequent documentation updates (e.g. releasing Engineering Orders (EOs) or ED revisions, etc.)

    • Documents configurations and designs of propulsion components. Assists in the development of rationale needed to make sound technical decisions regarding component design and development

    • Assists in using various testing, analysis, modeling and simulation tools to estimate or calculate component performance

    • Assists in the performance of propulsion component qualification / certification testing

    • Assists in supporting fielded components to assure continued reliability and airworthiness

    • Assists in identifying and managing propulsion risks, issues, and opportunities: assists in development of executable mitigation/capture plans, assists in estimating cost and schedule impact, updates risk tracking system (e.g. BORIS) and communicates to propulsion RIO Control Board

    • Assists in developing and maintaining Supplier Statements of Work (SSOW) for programs developing vehicle components to meet customer and regulatory requirements

    • Assist in technical evaluations of supplier proposals and coordinate with supplier management and cost account management to develop budgets for supplier efforts

    • Assists in component failure investigations and non-conformance closures through Material Review Board (MRB) and other internal and customer boards. This includes component issues that emerge at the supplier and/or the vehicle production facility (e.g. MAF). Coordinate with Boeing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other Integrated Product Team (IPT) members as needed to resolve issue

    • Assists with execution of technical interchange meetings and component reviews. For example: supplier requirements review (SRR), design reviews (PDR / CDR), acceptance reviews, test readiness reviews (TRR), production readiness reviews (PRR)

    • Assists with the review of supplier data requirement list (SDRL) items and engineering drawings to ensure design and requirement compliance

    • Assist with regular (e.g. weekly) technical coordination meetings with Propulsion IPT leadership, other Boeing groups / leaders, suppliers, and customers. Includes reporting component status / issues to internal leadership and customer on a regular basis. Assist Cost Account Managers in program baseline status weekly updates as needed

    • Works under Technical Lead Engineer’s (TLE's) guidance

    • Support and coordinate work scope with other engineers assigned

    • Work under close to general supervision, demonstrating a willingness to learn and apply sound engineering judgment

    • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

    • Understanding of propulsion system design principles and rocket engine fundamentals

    • Experience with CAD software and engineering design tools

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • Internship or co-op experience in propulsion system design, rocket engineering, or related aerospace fields

    • Experience working on propulsion systems to include cryogenic & pneumatic delivery systems

    • Experience in space, launch vehicle, and/or aircraft programs

    • Experience in NASA Space programs or a related Space or Defense program

    Summary pay range for Entry Level: $73,950.00 - $100,050.00
