    Job Description Qualifications:

    The Boeing Company is looking for an Entry Level Software Test Engineer to join our Mission Systems Software team located in Tukwila, WA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

    As a Software Test Engineer, you will work with a team in a casual but professional environment where there is long term potential for career growth. The optimal candidate works well with a team, has great communication skills, and is a self-starter. The selected team member enjoys working collaboratively with others, has a commitment to customer satisfaction and process improvement, and is successful working in a multi-contract/multi-program environment. Additionally, the software test engineer will support with the possibility to lead the testing of solutions to a wide range of complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation. The successful candidate should be adaptable to new development environments, eager to work with and learn new technologies and be capable of leading a small software team to complete its mission. This software supports both domestic and international customers and is developed using the Agile software process.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Assists with the documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
    • Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
    • Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
    • Gathers information to support software project management
    • Documents deployed processes and tools and collect metrics
    • Supports software research and development projects
    • Troubleshoots basic software issues
    • Works under close supervision

    This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

    This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
    • 1 plus years’ experience with Java, JavaScript or C++?
    • 1 plus years’ experience with Junit test or equivalent unit testing
    • Experience with AWS workspace

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • Working knowledge of GitLab
    • Knowledge of Spring
    • Knowledge of Agile practices
    • Architectural thinking
    • Knowledge of advanced Debugging practices

    Typical Education/Experience:

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Travel:

    Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.

    Relocation:

    This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.
