JOB DESCRIPTION QUALIFICATIONS:
The Boeing Company is seeking an Entry Level Software Engineer to join our team as Entry-level Software Engineer for our Boeing Platform Team in Mesa, AZ.
In this role, you will develop, deploy, and maintain next generation Linux Operating Systems for Safety-Critical and non-Safety critical applications. Software Engineers will work in multi-disciplinary teams with Systems Engineers, Testers, business leaders, and customers to design and build new OS features. This is a highly visible, multi-year strategic effort that impacts all areas of the enterprise. This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and does not require applicants to live in Mesa, Arizona, USA.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with the documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
Gathers information to support software project management
Documents deployed processes and tools and collect metrics
Supports software research and development projects
Troubleshoots basic software issues
Works under close supervision

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering field or computer science or will have within the next 9 months
Classroom or work related programming experience with any of the following software development languages: Ada, C, C++, C#, JAVA, and Python
Knowledge of Windows/Linux architectures
Basic computer science/development knowledge
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
1+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to understand open-source code and frameworks and make modifications to them if needed
