    JOB DESCRIPTION QUALIFICATIONS:

    The Boeing Battlespace and Simulation Management Team within Government Training Systems & Services team is seeking ENTRY LEVEL SOFTWARE ENGINEER to develop a wide range of products directly employed in the training of our nation’s pilots. Develop subsystems for Boeing Flight Trainers such as the Instructor/Operator Station, Brief/Debrief Station, Synthetic Environments, and core building block technologies used for all our flight trainers (graphics, video, networking, mission planning, exercise management & control). This position is located in HAZELWOOD, MO. a suburb of St. Louis, MO. Are you interested in learning to fly Apache and MH-139 Grey Wolf Training Software used to train Apache and MH-139 Grey Wolf pilots?

    This position allows for some hybrid work. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite a minimum of two days a week at one of the listed location options. (Hazelwood, MO).

    This is an exciting opportunity that will allow you to directly impact the engineering, design, and development of multiple simulators. In this role you will design, implement, integrate, and test real-time human-in-the-loop models of aircraft systems and displays, and related tools and utilities. You will have the opportunity to generate system design solutions and develop technical expertise in complex aircraft systems and simulations. These simulations support the employment and training of next generation avionics and sensor systems for the Apache and MH-139 Rotorcraft.

    The BSM team is a large software development team comprised of several smaller agile teams, some with specialized skills. Our backlog includes everything from new feature development using cutting-edge technology to maintenance of legacy software baselines. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working in an often fast-paced environment within a two-week "sprint" schedule. Adaptability, the ability to work closely with others and an open mind are essential attributes of team members. Experience in software development is required, and agile development experience is highly beneficial. A background in any or all of the following is desired: military aircraft, weapons, simulation, training systems is preferred.

    SECURITY CLEARANCE:

    THIS POSITION REQUIRES THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN A U.S. SECURITY CLEARANCE FOR WHICH THE U.S. GOVERNMENT REQUIRES U.S. CITIZENSHIP. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE):

    • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or other technical degree

    • Experience with C++, Python, or other programming languages

    • Experience with Visual Studio

    • Experience with configuration management and collaboration tools such as (or similar to) Git, JIRA, Collaborator, Beyond Compare, and VersionOne

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

    • Experience in embedded real-time software development

    • Experience with Agile Methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, XP)

    • Experience with both Windows and Linux platforms

    • Experience with Wireshark tools

    TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

    • In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
