    Boeing Flight Test & Evaluation Engineering team seeking an energetic and talented Engineer to join our organization in support of multiple flight test programs (e.g., F/A-18, F-15, T-X, MQ-25, JDAM, SDB, P-8, Phantom Works, Advanced Programs, etc.). This requisition is for either the Test Requirements & Analysis (TR&A) team and/or the Flight Test Conductor team which both require travel.

    The Test Requirements & Analysis (TR&A) team serves as the requirements collection and data integrator for test teams and customers to ensure instrumentation sensor data and aircraft digital bus data is acquired, processed into engineering data, and distributed in support of safe, efficient and effective system verification/validation and airworthiness certification. TR&A engineer’s support testing across multiple disciplines including Aerodynamics, Propulsion, Aircraft Subsystems, Loads, Dynamics, Flutter, Avionics, Weapons, and Mission Systems. TR&A engineers coordinate with flight test operations, instrumentation, software, and design engineers, as well as with Boeing & Government customers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Engineers suited for the TR&A role should have a major interest in signals, signaling, data capture, data transmission, etc which typically align to Electrical Engineers.

    TEST REQUIREMENTS & ANALYSIS (TR&A) Responsibilities:

    • Work with internal and external customers to define and document instrumentation, data requirements, and test planning, including acquisition, processing, and analysis, to satisfy test objectives

    • Coordinate with flight and ground test personnel to develop, update, maintain, and configuration control real-time displays required for real-time data analysis and mission control

    • Design, develop, and implement complex calculations in support of test objectives

    • Work with the flight test software team to ensure existing custom flight test processing software will meet requirements for test, and define requirements and test any new required software or algorithms

    • Maintain and update aircraft data processing database with test specific information

    • Verifies the necessary parameters for a test are operational, recorded, and/or telemetered

    • Support the conduct and execution of the test program, including real-time test coverage and data monitoring

    • Request, process, analyze, release, and distribute final test data

    • Analyze final data for quality, identify and correct anomalies prior to release to data customers

    The FLIGHT TEST CONDUCTOR team serves to plan and execute the flight test program. They are responsible for coordinating between internal and external stakeholders to ensure test assets, software, detailed test plans and the required personnel are in place to support flight testing. They are responsible for maintaining the configuration of the test asset, including physical hardware as well as software loads. The ideal applicant must be self-motivated, dependable, have outstanding written and oral communication skills, and exhibit excellent interpersonal/team participation skills. They must also possess excellent analytical and organizational skills with a commitment to customer satisfaction.

    FLIGHT TEST CONDUCTOR Responsibilities:

    • Detailed test planning

    • Instrumentation installation coordination

    • Test article configuration management

    • On-aircraft ground testing

    • Support systems check out

    • Test readiness reviews

    • Flight test execution

    • Weight & balance forms

    • Day-to-day coordination of remote site test activities and personnel

    • Issues resolution within a flight test program.

    This position is based in Berkeley, MO or Saint Charles, MO and may require short term travel (less than 30 days), a Domestic Temporary Assignment (30 days - 2 years), or optional permanent relocation to different flight test locations in support of testing at alternate test sites (e.g., Pax River NAS; China Lake NAS; Eglin AFB; Nellis AFB; Edwards AFB; Palmdale CA; etc.).This position is primarily 1st shift; occasional alternate or extended shifts may be required to support test program objectives.

    This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

    • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics

    • The ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).

    TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).

    • In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    RELOCATION:

    Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
