    Supernal is at the forefront of creating emerging mobility solutions that will foster the development of human-centered cities. We are designing a completely new electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft tailored to the mobility needs of future cities. This allows passengers a seamless intermodal journey that safely transports them to their final destination. We fuse research in autonomy, robotics, aviation and services to define a new category of mobility for the world’s communities.     What we do:

    The Industrial Designer is part of the Interiors Design team within the assembly and integration product team. This role develops concepts and human centered design solutions that support the overall long-term goals of the product. The role works with the design team throughout the conceptual, preliminary, detail design and testing phases. The designer is heavily involved in the building of prototype and flight test aircraft as well as helping to incubate technology that will be transitioned to the operations/production team in the long run. There is a focus on design for manufacturing from the beginning to ensure a smooth transition into production. The role also collaborates with various development teams, including systems, interiors, UI/UX, flight technology, strategy, brands and comms, and airframe.

    What you can do:

    • Deliver human-centered design focused on the needs and desires of consumers and users, including ergonomics, ease of use, and attractiveness using business requirements and parameters
    • Carry out industrial design research/strategy initiatives. This includes understanding customer needs, defining personas, documenting use cases, generating design deliverables, crafting detailed prototypes, and conducting user testing
    • Establish and manage relationships with collaborators and suppliers
    • Facilitate key stakeholder engagement including items such as coordinating brainstorms, or work sessions
    • Research, analyze, develop, and select interior and exterior CMF that aligns with the overall design concept and build visual presentation incorporating innovative design trends
    • Contribute to the intellectual property position of Supernal through invention and/or patent applications
    • Identify and act on trends, consumer, market, and technology opportunities to create successful concepts and transition them into production
    • Benchmark competitive products and aid in design direction
    • Conduct pressure mapping, collect pressure map data, and build reports comparing and summarizing the data
    • Prepare and author various manuals / templates such as design standard practices, procedures, processes, and product requirements / specification
    • Collaborate with Project / Program Managers to develop an accurate accounting of hours and budgets required for various types of internal projects and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
    • Other duties as assigned

    What you can contribute:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Product design
    • A minimum of three (3) years of experience designing aircraft interiors
    • Experience with development programs, project management, creating schedules in MS-Project and excel, and prototyping
    • Experience creating computer models using design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design, Painter, Sketch Book Pro, Keyshot, Rhino, Alias, Catia and creating high quality renderings and animations
    • Experience with UX research and generating reports summarizing results
    • Results-oriented and able to manage projects schedules and meet deadlines with little supervision
    • Ability to design using programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design, Painter, Sketch Book Pro, Keyshot, Rhino, Alias, Catia and creating high quality renderings and animations
    • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and highly collaborative
    • Ability to understand and propose solutions to complex design problems

    Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.

    The pay range for this position is:$133,120—$186,160 USD
