    As a Chief Inspector, you’ll have the authority and responsibility for managing, supervising, coordinating, training and scheduling all inspection functions for maintenance release.

    What you’ll do:

    • Ensure compliance with the Repair Station and Quality Manual (RSQM) in the performance of inspection duties.
    • Ensure the standards and system for ensuring that all receiving, preliminary, hidden damage, in-process and final inspections of articles undergoing maintenance, preventive maintenance or alteration are performed in accordance with the applicable maintenance data and the RSQM.
    • Maintain and Implement QSP 7.5.3 Identification and Traceability.
    • Determine whether the requested maintenance, preventive maintenance or alteration on articles received for work can be accomplished within the applicable maintenance data, despite any other damage or discrepancies noted.
    • Ensure that work performed on articles under the authority of the repair station is appropriately approved for return to service on the maintenance release document.
    • Support the Quality Manager with Audits.
    • Determine when Articles are beyond repair.
    • Initiate the process that determines whether an article should be reported under the Suspected Unapproved Parts program and for filing reports under that program.
    • Ensure Scrap parts are segregated in a manner that will prevent their use in maintenance, preventive maintenance or alteration pending final disposition from the customer.
    • Review and approve operation routers, technical plans and special process parameters, etc.
    • Cover for inspection employee absence.
    • Ensure team members maintain their work areas 5S.
    • Communicates with vendors and customers as needed.
    • Supervise and support all inspection employees in the performance of their functions through routine performance evaluations and take appropriate disciplinary actions to correct undesirable behaviors.
    • Ascertain qualifications of all inspection employees prior to work assignment through test and evaluation of their previous experience.
    • Ensure personnel have appropriate knowledge or are properly trained prior to assigning inspection tasks.
    • Ensure inspection personnel certifications and qualifications are maintained current.
    • Evaluate Team Performance towards achieving metrics. Make adjustments as necessary to improve results.

    Position Requirements:

    • At least 18 months in a 145 repair station
    • Thoroughly familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment and tools used to determine the airworthiness of the article on which maintenance, preventive maintenance or alterations are being performed
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the same or similar position in the field of Quality Control in FAA regulated environment
    • Basic Computer Knowledge
    • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    Preferred Characteristics:

    • A&P License preferred
    • Well organized with attention to detail
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to think outside the box when solving problems
