    Job Description Qualifications:

    Position Overview:

    Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity and immediate need on the United States Air Force (USAF) E-7 Program for an Entry Mechanical Systems Design Engineer in Tukwila, WA. As a member of the USAF E-7 Mechanical Systems Engineering team you will be working in a highly dynamic team environment.

    The E-7 is the world’s most advanced, capable and reliable Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) platform, having proven itself in operations around the world.

    Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Entry-Level and Associate Mechanical Systems Design Engineers.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment.

    • Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers.

    • Performs limited detail design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations.

    • Supports team in performing spatial integration at system or component level and modification of mechanisms/landing gear/ordinance systems.

    • Assists in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems.

    • Assists in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts.

    • Works under close supervision.

    This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

    This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

    • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • Prior 3D modeling experience (CATIA)

    • Prior experience with hydraulic systems or fuel systems

    Typical Education/Experience:

    Entry-Level (Level 1): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

    Relocation:

    Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range (Entry-Level - Level 1): $69,700 - $94,300 Summary pay range (Associate - Level2): $84,600 - $110,400
