    The F/A-18 Super Hornet Service Life Modification (SLM) program delivers critical new capabilities and additional service life to the US Navy. It includes extending the Super Hornet's service life to 10,000 hours, upgrading to the Block III cockpit, and an upgrade to core mission systems. These upgrades give the warfighter critical capabilities and keep the F/A-18 in active service for decades to come.

    The F/A-18 Super Hornet Service Life Modification (SLM) team is seeking an Entry-Level or Associate Product Review Engineer (Liaison Engineer) located in San Antonio, TX.

    Position Responsibilities

    • Researches and builds knowledge of Boeing and engineering design principles in order to develop solutions to product/process issues for production or simple technical in-service issues.

    • Assists with analyses, root cause analysis and drafting dispositions for design non-conformances.

    • Assists system owner in preparation of technical communications.

    • Identifies analyses fleet data, collects and evaluates data on customer findings for product/process improvement opportunities that may include recurrent product support issues.

    • Supports activities to identify deviations that could impact design intent and safety.

    • Participates in Material Review Boards and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).

    • Assists with the design of interim structural repairs to restore damaged structure to original design strength capability.

    This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

    This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.

    • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

    • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

    • Level 1 (Entry-Level): Bachelor’s degree and combination of technical education and experience

    • Level 2 (Associate): 2+ years of work-related experience with a bachelor’s degree OR work-related experience with a Masters

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

    • Experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment

    • Have good communication and cross-group collaboration skills

    • Hands on problem solving skills

    Typical Education & Experience:

    Level 1: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor), or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Level 2: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Level 1: $63,750 - $86,250

    Level 2: $73,950 - $100,050
