    At StandardAero Augusta, as a Propulsion Technologist, you will provide critical technical support to both internal and external customers on turbine engine performance, troubleshooting, production processes, and product failure investigations. Your role will involve using both qualitative and quantitative analysis to identify opportunities for repair development and process improvement related to turbine engine overhaul and repair.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Author technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Design and mock-up up tooling to assist in the overhaul process.
    • Support day-to-day production and provide technical advisement to meet technical requirements.
    • Provide process-related training and analyze methods to enhance production quality and efficiency.
    • Offer technical advice, produce reports on product serviceability, repair summaries, warranty, and failure analysis.
    • Support the implementation of new processes, specify tools and test equipment, and assist in training on overhaul and test methods.
    • Facilitate coordination between internal and external Engineering and Operations during new repair and process implementations.
    • Develop new repairs from engineering data and contribute to repair trials, analyzing and documenting results.
    • Stay updated with state-of-the-art technologies and processes.
    • Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
    • Resolve technical problems outside of regular work scope through liaison with OEMs.
    • Act as a technical liaison for best practice sharing and OEM communications.

    Position Requirements:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with minimum of 3 years of experience in a support role for turbine engine maintenance, OR an Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of turbine engine support experience, OR a high school diploma/GED with9 years of technical support for Honeywell turbofan engine overhaul programs.
    • Experience utilizing Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
    • Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints.
    • Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
    • Familiarity with gas turbine engine theory and performance analysis.
    • Physical ability to walk throughout the facility, climb, bend, and lift up to 50lbs.
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

    Preferred Characteristics:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
    • Experience with Honeywell propulsion engine and APU products.
    • Valid FAA A&P license.
    • Expertise with 3D printing hardware/software.
    • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision-making, oral, and written communication skills.
