    JOB DESCRIPTION

Build An Aviation Career You're Proud Of

We will support you to take on new challenges and grow your skills as you build relationships, ensure our teams are taken care of and advocate for our customers' needs. Our values like integrity, service, teamwork, and communication will make you proud to be part of StandardAero.

    Overview

We’re looking for a Customer Project Planner with avionics expertise to lead the strategic planning and coordination of complex maintenance operations. This role is key to ensuring the seamless alignment of people, parts, and processes across both internal teams and third-party service providers.

You’ll go beyond scheduling by developing forward-looking maintenance strategies, optimizing preventive programs, and managing vendor relationships that are critical to operational success. Your deep understanding of avionics systems and facility infrastructure will enable you to anticipate needs, prevent disruptions, and keep our site running at peak performance. Reports to the Facility Scheduler and Planning Department Manager.

    What You’ll Do

    • Build short- and long-term maintenance plans for projects with avionics systems workscopes, accounting for production forecasts, compliance cycles, and equipment lifespans.
    • Identify, schedule, and manage third-party service providers for specialized maintenance tasks. Ensure clear scopes of work, verify credentials, and align schedules with internal operations.
    • Triage new work requests, assess technical requirements, and assign priority levels; determine internal vs. vendor-based execution strategies.
    • Develop and continuously improve PM routines with internal SMEs and external partners to enhance equipment reliability and lifespan.
    • Coordinate with purchasing and vendors to ensure material availability and lead-time accuracy for planned maintenance events.
    • Balance resource allocation across internal and vendor teams to avoid bottlenecks and meet production goals.
    • Track vendor and internal performance using KPIs-monitoring backlog, completion rates, response time, and equipment uptime.
    • Ensure vendor work aligns with industry standards, internal procedures, and regulatory requirements (especially for avionics systems).
    • Work closely with production, engineering, EHS, logistics, and quality teams to align maintenance planning with operational priorities.
    • Provide detailed planning input for equipment installations, retrofits, and commissioning-including vendor integration and validation plans.
    • Carries out additional projects and assignments as required.

    Qualifications

    • Solid understanding of avionics systems, electronics, or instrumentation-ideally within civilian or defense aerospace industries.
    • 3+ years in maintenance or reliability planning, with experience managing both internal and contracted resources.
    • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills
    • Comfortable evaluating vendor capabilities, negotiating timelines, and holding third parties accountable to performance expectations.
    • Able to coordinate across technical and non-technical teams, and clearly communicate with external service providers.
    • Skilled in using maintenance planning software to schedule work, track asset history, and analyze performance.
    • Familiar with Lean principles, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement techniques.

    Preferred

    • Experience working with FAA-regulated equipment or within MRO environments
    • Reliability or asset management certifications (e.g., CMRP, CRE)
    • Project planning experience involving external vendors or contractors

    Salary: $71,400 to 89,760

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, StandardAero considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
