    About the Job

    We are looking for a Senior Software Developer specializing in the development, maintenance, and modernization of applications on the IBM i (formerly AS/400 and/or iSeries) platform who is a self-starter and can work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment to join our team!

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform the full range of SDLC activities - Design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance and support of ERP applications hosted on IBM i Platform.
    • Working with DB2 databases, including designing and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures, developing integrations with other systems and platforms, and helping to modernize legacy applications.
    • Work closely with business users to evaluate user requirements and convert the specifications provided into high-quality applications on the IBM i Platform.
    • Prepare design documentation and diagrams describing software systems, their integrations and respective data elements. Document unit tests, functional test and developer integration tests.
    • Implement and deliver robust, resilient and secure code with industry-approved coding practices.
    • Follow change control processes and adhere to internal policies and procedures.
    • Identify and resolve issues in applications and systems, assist with user HelpDesk calls.
    • Use internal systems and applications to complete development assignments.
    • Collaborate with other application development team members.
    • Carry out special projects as assigned.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
    • 5+ years of work experience as a developer or an analyst/developer in an IBM i and IBM Power Systems (formerly AS/400 and/or iSeries) environment.
    • Strong understanding of the IBM i operating system, its components and applications for software development and support. Knowledge of IBM i Programming Development Manager (PDM), proficiency in RPG, CL and concepts of libraries, objects, members, and user-defined options.
    • Experience with IBM i DB2 database management, SQL design and development.
    • The role may require up to 10% travel across sites.

    Preferred Characteristics:

    • General knowledge of system integration techniques, .NET architecture, C#, AVR.net, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, web services, source control tools, IDEs (preferably Visual Studio) and Jira.
    • Understanding of financial and business processes.
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a team player attitude.
    • Good time-management and communication skills, both written and oral.
    • Sense of accountability and utilizing independent judgment.
