Job Description Qualifications:
The Boeing Company is looking for a Test & Evaluation Engineer - Noise Testing to join our team in Tukwila, WA. This role will contribute to laboratory support of flight testing of all Boeing programs including Boeing Commercial Aircraft (BCA) and Boeing Defense and Space (BDS). This individual will work locally in laboratory, fly aboard airplane on test flights, and fly remotely to outside test facilities to monitor and maintain operation of all required instrumentation. The Noise Lab Field Test Team is responsible for aircraft ground and flight testing to support airplane design, development, certification, research and technology development, delivery, after sales support, and accident investigations for all BCA products and many BDS products.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Entry, Associate, and Mid-Level Test & Evaluation Engineers - Noise Testing.
Position Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, conduct, and document noise tests for both in laboratory and aboard flight tests conducted locally and remotely
Document standardized testing processes, procedures. Responsible for project management and execution for a variety of testing activities related to noise and vibration
Coordinate the development of all hardware, software, test rig, test parts, processes, and test technology required for testing
Acquire and review test data, monitor data quality and perform detailed error analysis
Use test critiques to assist in the improvement of testing processes including documentation and methodology
Analyze system functional and performance requirements, develop interface definitions, prepare flow and logic diagrams and perform system-level analyses
Actively cultivate and manage customer-supplier relations and identify areas for innovation, technical collaboration, partnerships, and best practices
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Experience working in a in a lab test, flight test, or similar test environment
Experience with MATLAB and LabVIEW
Experience with planning, operation and troubleshooting of instrumentation and data acquisition systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering with Acoustics and Vibration related study; or an Acoustical and/or Vibration related degree
Experience in acoustic testing and/or design
Experience with sound and vibration instrumentation, such as: microphones, bridge transducers, accelerometers, encoders/tachometers, IRIG-B generators
Experience with signal-based and/or network-based hardware time synchronization architectures
Experience with NI dynamic data acquisition hardware
Experience with fiber optic networking hardware
Experience with Agile software development and work management tools
Experience programing in LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python, C++, JAVA, Visual Studio/Basic
Experience with JIRA, Git, Object-Oriented Programming, relational databases
Typical Education/Experience:
Entry (Level 1)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Associate (Level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Mid-Level (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for associate level: $73,100 - $98,900
Summary pay range for mid-level: $85,850 - $116,150
Summary pay range for senior level: $102,000 - $138,000
