Test and Evaluation Lab Technician (Entry Level or Associate)
Job Description Qualifications:
The Boeing Company is looking for a Test and Evaluation Lab Technician to join our team in Berkeley, MO. The Boeing Test & Evaluation Midwest Environmental Labs support various defense, space and commercial programs.There are several areas of Environmental Test performed at this location which include: Acoustics, Airflow, Dynamics, Hypersonics, Thermal and Vibration. This hands on position will include all facets of the test lifecycle from test design, setup and execution to test teardown.
Special training for this position may be required depending on work statement including but not limited to respirator safety, pyrotechnic device safety, laser safety, confined environment safety, etc.

Position Responsibilities:
Highly adaptable and flexible to changing schedules
FOD and Inventory management skills
Bring or want to develop a diverse set of skills in taking measurements, including data systems and or lab developed hardware/software
Capable (with training) of operating complex data acquisition systems & should be attentive to issues which may be affecting data quality
Ability to perform basic trouble-shooting tasks for mechanical and electrical systems
Working knowledge of signal noise and how to identify its sources, and mitigate it
Capable of working on low voltage wiring and cabling, preferably with the ability to solder non-flying hardware
Familiar with and able to identify de-energized and/or lock-out, high voltage systems components and to direct such work to qualified electricians as necessary
Capable of using, within operating parameters various electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Identify and work to improve the operating process to assure safe testing without over testing where operating instruction are insufficient
Maintain serviceability and accountability of most lab hardware including calibrated equipment and test system hardware
Work with chemicals such as cleaning solvents and adhesives within the Safety Data Sheets guidelines of use
Ability to perform Proper storage, inventory control, use, and disposal, as these items are critical
Prepared for physical activity while also continually seeking to identify and implement ergonomic and safety improvements which benefit their daily work
Support activities to plan, conduct and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies
Design systems, materials, components, software and methodologies to meet customer requirements
Participate in test design and performs routine procurement, fabrication and assembly of components, test fixtures and test systems
Support the coordination of test requirements and assists in reviewing test methods and capabilities
Facilitate systems integration, fabrication and modification; supports system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post test tear-down
Conduct routine tests, analyzes data and documents results
Troubleshoot and recommend resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems
Work under general supervision
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Experience directly supporting flight/lab test operations
Experience with precision test, measurement devices, and sensor selection

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. 2 years' related work experience).
Associate (level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.).
