    Position Overview Obtain a general understanding of all Merchandising functions. Understand interdependencies with Design, Production, Tech, and Buying. Become familiar with merchandising tools, terminology and responsibilities. Execute day-to-day tasks necessary to assist the Merchandising team.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Gain a strong and strategic point of view of your classification and brand position in the market
    • Look to improve our work process; identify inefficiencies and make recommendations to streamline workload for the team
    • Assists merchandising team in developing a cohesive assortment by product category
    • Maintains product brief data integrity to ensure clear communication to design and production
    • Researches and communicates shifts in the competitive market through trends, pricing, and emerging product categories
    • Gains a strong understanding of the Polo customer and his needs
    • Observes the relationship between merch, design, and production to learn how to create a collaborative working environment
    • Strengthens financial acumen to better react to business needs
    • Learns how to meet IMU goals while maintaining brand desirability
    • Owns sample management for key meetings
    • Owns all product tools to ensure a strong understanding of the line
    • Disseminates all product changes to key partners
    • Maintains data integrity in GFE and other assortment related systems and documents
    • Establishes cross-functional relationships to promote best practices and process adherence; fosters teamwork

  • Qualifications

    Experience, Skills & Knowledge

    • 1-3 years retail merchandising or buying experience
    • Computer proficiency in MS Office: Outlook, Excel, Word
    • Excellent interpersonal skills supporting a team environment
    • Excellent English communication skills - verbal and written
    • Excellent time management/project skills
    • Strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail
    • Ability to recognize and react to changing work demands
    • Comfortable and confident in making effective autonomous (and group) decisions in a timely manner
    • Goal orientated: ability to stay focused on creating winning result
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
    • Proven ability to manage projects independently and to work as part of a team
