GoerTek Electronics, Inc. - Product Design Engineer Posted On: 2018-8-13 Location: Santa Clara, CA, USA Job Summary The Product Design Engineer works closely with customers engineering team on product development from concept to mass production. Internally work and drive the internal cross-functional team to meet product specification from design, process through engineering builds. Focusing on facilitating technical communication between engineering groups and non-technical team members, the PD Engineer will use his/her technical expertise to help identify solutions for engineering issue during the project development and review all technical work. The PD Engineer will work on project-based team structure. PD resource will also be shared on multiple projects in a matrix organization. Responsibilities Team up with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, marketing, and customers to define a mechanical design for a variety of consumer electronic products Using Pro/E CAD program to create or review 3D database and drawings Conduct Mechanical Design Review with customer which includes detail in dimensional tolerance analysis, basic FEA calculation, DFM and manufacturing assembly flow and fixture Interfacing with testing laboratories, and suppliers for the development and cost requirements Conduct international conference call with both US customer and manufacturing team in China Travel onsite domestic and internationally for design, manufacturing or engineering builds Requirements BS in Mechanical engineering with 3+ years of experience in product design Experienced in metal stamping, plastic injection molding, basic manufacturing techniques using commercially available materials Experienced in full design and development cycle on consumer electronic products Experienced in CAD programs; (Pro/E, UG) Experienced in MS office tools including MS Project Experienced in FATP assembly and module level design is a plus Good oral and written communications skills, with the ability to converse in Chinese Mandarin, is a plus International travel to Asia around 20% of the time Ability to work well in a fast-paced work environment for consumer electronic product development How to Apply: beth.hou@goertekusa.com or LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/780220696/ Please mention AES001183 when applying for this position.
