Technical Business Development Associate (Mining) - North America
Job Description
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Technical Business Development Associate for North America will drive growth in the region for CGG’s Minerals & Mining business line (part of CGG’s Geoscience Division), with a particular emphasis on the mining offerings provided by our Satellite Mapping and Multi-Physics Imaging business units. The candidate will work collaboratively with our remote sensing and geophysics experts to proactively generate and qualify new leads and opportunities. The role may also support business development in South America, as well as regional business development relating to the broader suite of CGG Geoscience offerings.
With an innovative mind set and a proactive work ethic, the role will gather market intelligence, and develop client relationships, by leveraging your existing industry contacts and through various activities and channels, including social media, digital marketing campaigns, client and industry meetings, networking events and presentations (conferences, tradeshows, seminars, videocalls and webinars). The role will also support timely client communication, proposals, tenders and reports to CGG management.
Technical business development experience within the geoscience, geospatial or surveying arenas is essential. Knowledge and experience of satellite remote sensing (particularly InSAR), applied geophysics, and associated imaging technologies, and their specific application in the mining sector, is highly desirable. An established network of current contacts in the mining sector is required.
The role will join a strong and professional culture of providing accurate consultative advice to clients in response to their challenges and requirements. The role must be able to communicate the technical value proposition effectively to a wide range of technical experts, be a good listener, have a keen eye for detail.
Whilst CGG’s mining activities are global, its Minerals & Mining business line is head-quartered out of the United Kingdom. The role is to be based in either Vancouver, Canada or Denver, USA and will work closely with staff around the world.
