As a Structures CAD Technician Intern, youll have the chance to work on a variety of Highway and Bridge projects, both large and small. Working with Engineers and other CAD Technicians, youll assist in developing plans for bridges, retaining walls and other structures. This role applies technical concepts / procedures to resolve problems which may be non-routine in nature and escalate complex problems as needed. The minimum qualifications for this position are: -High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience: -Currently enrolled in a two-year Associates program in the field of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) or similar degree or technical program where CAD certificate will be obtained -Some working knowledge of CAD is preferred, either AutoCAD or MicroStation, and can be through class experience -Strong written and verbal communication skills including proficient use of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.) -Ability to work independently and as part of a team -Ability to work with staff located remotely -Sound decision making skills Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: -Prepares engineering drawings of plans, elevations, cross sections and details of civil structures from rough sketches and/or from general engineering design information according to established standards and procedures -Works collaboratively in a team environment with other CAD Technicians and Engineers -Promotes and contributes to the successful completion of projects CH2M is now Jacobs; join us and love what you do.
