Job Title:NPD / DTV Engineer FLSA Status:Salaried Exempt/Fulltime Location:Richmond, VA Department:NPD / DTV Engineering Supervisor:Manager, NPD / DTV Engineering Overview: This objective of this role is to provide design and development engineering for a major strategic project (HSVG), specifically for the O/V-Series platforms. Objectives include DFM for automation, material cost reduction, adding additional models to the series, and developing the self-contained refrigeration models. Responsibilities: -Work with design team to develop the O/V-Series Reach-In platforms -Develop CAD models, assembly drawings, and structured indented bills of material (SIB) -Create fully detailed drawing packages for each build-to-order (BTO) product and release in the PLM system -Apply a modular product platform approach suitable for a highly capitalized automated assembly process -Work with the Program Manager to schedule and coordinate efforts with the extended team -Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to tailor the design for automated assembly -Develop a test plan and work with the Engineering Lab to validate the product -Achieve the proposed schedule, material cost savings, and labor savings targets Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: -Proficient in the design of refrigerated merchandisers -Knowledge of modular product platform design methodology -Experience with DFM for automated assembly -Organized with strong project management skills; resource planning, scheduling, and reporting of status -Engineering skill in heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluids, and refrigeration. -Proficient at MCAD modeling of proposed solutions -Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a high degree of product and process complexity. -Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a matrixed, functional organization with the ability to influence stakeholders in various functional groups. -Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. -Experience in driving continuous improvement and providing leadership in utilizing various analysis tools Basic Qualifications: -BS Mechanical Engineering -MS Mechanical Engineering a plus Experience: -3+ years of experience in design of industrial products -Strong track record of NPD and DTV accomplishments All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, age, genetic information, or any other factors prohibited by law.
