Position Description Operations Support Technician Organization Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories Professional Scientific Services, LLC Location VA, Richmond Job Code 14435 Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories PSS is searching for a Operations Support Technician in Richmond, VA. Operations Support Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following : · The technician will work as part of a larger team of scientists in Tobacco and Leaf technology, on all aspects of plant breeding, ranging from basic sample procession to downstream in interpretation or assessment. Help not only in data procession, but also contributions to the design and optimization of methods and workflow, tracking of sample and project progress, and communicating with group members. The technician must not only have an understanding of the laboratory protocols and methodology but understand the overall objectives of the research project. The ideal candidate would possess : · Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills · Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail Knowledge of basic plant molecular breeding · Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude · Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies Experience in molecular biology research, plant genetics or molecular breeding Basic Minimum Qualifications : · Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major) Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed.
