Overview We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer I to join the team in our Bellevue, WA office. HNTB is in an exciting period of tremendous sustainable growth in the North West Region. HNTB Corporation's mechanical services range from planning and designing major airport and military infrastructure systems, including Central Utilities Plants and Jet Fuel System, to rehabilitating small offices and toll plazas. The firm achieves a balance among design, budget, schedule and aesthetic concerns to ensure that projects are compatible and economical for the communities they serve. Job Summary Assists assigned department by performing engineering-related tasks including research, development, calculations, design and delivery on assigned project(s). Essential Responsibility Contributes to the preparation or modification of reports, plans and designs for projects. Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates. Performs other duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities A moderately supervised position in a team environment in which primary responsibilities include planning and design in areas of Utilities Master Plans, Central Utility Plants, Renewable Energy Systems, Energy Conservation and Aviation Fueling Systems for both commercial and industrial facilities. HNTB mechanical services include: - Utilities Master Plans - Aviation Fueling System planning and design - Central Utility Plant planning and design - Utility Corridor planning and design - Tunnel Ventilation planning and design - Aviation HVAC & Plumbing Systems - Military HVAC & Plumbing Systems Basic Qualification Bachelor's degree in Engineering 1 year relevant experience EIT Preferred Qualification/Skills Master's degree in Engineering 1 to 2 years mechanical engineering consulting experience in planning, design and construction administration for mechanical systems. General Work Conditions Combination Office and Field Environment: Most work is performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use. Work may infrequently be performed at clients job site, construction trailer, and in the field. Work may sometimes require working in inclement weather, working in a construction site, being exposed to heavy construction equipment and doing extensive walking.
