    Engineering Technician Apprentice Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World Engineering Technician Apprentice Duties, Experience, Skills, Requirements, and Information: * All candidates will be required to pass a Drug Screenings * Possess a valid drivers license. * This position will be part of the ATR Weather Support Team, and will be trained to set up and use the following weather data collection systems and software: * With training, candidate will perform installation, maintenance, repair, modification, and testing of all the above meteorological equipment, including both hardware and software * Ability to learn practical application of surveying principles. * Basic computer knowledge and skills needed. * Must be available to work overtime as needed. * Occasional travel may be required. Education Required: * High School Diploma or equivalent GED * Selected candidate must enroll in the State of Maryland-approved PAE Apprenticeship Program, and ultimately complete a course curriculum leading to an Associates Degree. Security Clearance: * U S Citizenship required * Ability to obtain a US DoD Secret Security clearance, and ability to maintain clearance throughout employment. If the position requires a clearance. Work Conditions: Most work performed in enclosed buildings. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. This classifications activities range from, an office-like environment with extensive sitting demands to a flight line-like environment with extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands. May occasionally be required to lift objects whose weight is 50 - 100 pounds. The diversity of work conditions may range from an office environment where there is little or no physical discomfort to a flight line environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock hazards.
