POWER Engineers, Inc. - Facilities Business Unit is currently seeking a talented engineering student for a summer internship. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, the successful candidate will be involved in many of the aspects of food facility design. Most of the work will be concerning the design of food and beverage processing lines. Responsibilities may include CAD drafting, vendor coordination, equipment specification, mass balances, fluid mechanics and heat transfer. The position may also include performing design calculations in accordance with industry standards, assisting senior engineers with QA/QC design checks and assisting senior engineers with their design efforts. The Facilities Business Unit of POWER Engineers is a full-service consulting engineering firm that specializes and is a leader in Food and Beverage, Federal, and Industrial facility design. Required Education/Experience Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Bioproducts/Biosystems, or an equivalent engineering program from a U.S. Accredited Institution Excellent verbal and written communication skills Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship Desired Education/Experience Preference given to applicants with a GPA above a 3.2. Candidate is interested in consulting engineering and food and beverage systems design. Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills will be critical for successful completion of tasks. Prior internship and/or related engineering experience is a plus. Familiarity with design, drafting or engineering software such as MATHCAD, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, Aspen Plus, etc. as well as Microsoft Excel is beneficial.
