07-Sep-2018 Manufacturing Associate, Level C United States Position Summary This position performs moderately complex assembly of electro-mechanical equipment control modules and standard cabinetry. Working from hard copy and electronic assembly documentation and instructions, general assembly criteria, workmanship standards, and experience, the position follows established sequencing of hardware and wiring installations using predefined tools and fixtures. The position takes direction from manufacturing and product development engineering in assembling pilot runs of new products and may work from preliminary drawings and bills of material. Position working environment is moderately variable with repetitive manufacturing with established productivity requirements. Working with minimal supervision in a production environment, the position is held to the highest standards in, and compliance with, safety, quality, delivery, productivity, procedures, policies, and metrics. Essential Functions Functional Read, follow, and execute tasks per sequence defined by electronic or hardcopy drawings and work instructions. Follow standardized methods of work to accomplish an established set of assembly tasks. Follow and execute tasks per sequence defined by electronic or hardcopy drawings and work instructions.. Handle heavy gauge electrical wiring and plumbing routing and assembly in repetitive product manufacturing. Use tools including: Wire Strippers, Wire Luggers, Torque Drivers, and Lifting Fixtures. Work from established product bill of materials, wiring schematics, and layout drawings of products currently manufactured and previously manufactured products from a variety of Manufacturing Operations facilities. Evaluate unique assembly and disassembly requirements and prepare an approach based upon safe work practices. Assess products returned from customers for service and plan restoration of control modules. Clean control modules, restore painted surfaces, and perform general preparation prior to product shipment. Achieve a consistent level of quality that may not be subsequently verified prior to product shipment. May perform other duties as assigned. Leadership Identify potential roadblocks to team goals, propose solutions and resources needed, to the team, coach, or management. Be responsible and accountable for implementation and compliance with team decisions. Interpersonal Interact with, receive guidance from, and provide constructive feedback to Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Design Engineering. Work independently and in a team of Manufacturing Associates and Engineering in a proactive way that promotes timely information and idea exchange. Engage and actively participate in problem solving, process improvements, and team meetings while utilizing effective communication skills. Business Assist, and be responsive to the needs of teams and team members as well as other individuals, in the pursuit of the companys goals. Develop and implement quality and productivity improvements as necessary to achieve department objectives. Actively participate in, and promote, continuous improvement of safety, quality, delivery, and productivity processes and metrics. Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with business and government regulations. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published by the Company. EOE, M/F/DISABLE,VET Minimum Qualifications Basic Qualifications * High School Diploma or GED * At least 18 years of age * One years of related experience in electrical and electronic product assembly. * Legal authorization to work in the US is required. Preferred Qualifications: * Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to perform, reading of electrical schematics, standard component placements, assembly from workmanship standards and guidelines. * Demonstrated understanding and logical approach to analyses and problem solving techniques. * Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. * Ability to operate independently and productively with minimum supervision. Physical Requirements: * Ability to move and operate safely in a manufacturing environment. * Ability to manipulate large assemblies and heavy electrical wiring. * Ability to climb ladders and work from elevated platforms. * Ability to wear appropriate personal protection equipment including safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc as necessary per job function. * Ability to operate hand pallet jacks, motorized tuggers, and cranes in moving large and heavy products.
