Responsibilities A summer Intern in UL's Cybersecurity Assurance Lab is needed to support lab operations, network connectable medical device and software security test configurations and testing. The summer intern will work closely with Principle Engineer, Cyber Security Analysts, and/or Laboratory Manager to perform various security testing scenarios, including static code analysis, vulnerability testing, malware scanning, penetration testing and fuzz testing. The Intern will support the Principle Engineer and Cyber Security Analysts with tool configurations, product configurations, and lab operations. Qualifications This position requires at least two years of engineering, computer science, and/or other related technical education. Experience with embedded software development and software development tools is also needed. Experience scripting in one or more of the following languages: Sh, cash, Perl, python, awk, ruby and programming experience with C, C++, C#, or Java is desired. Experience with prototyping platforms (BeagleBoards, Arduino, Raspberry Pi) either through school or home projects is also a strongly desired skill. The Intern candidate should also have hands-on experience (through school lab or self-hobbist) with commercial open source and free security testing solutions such as AppCheck, Fortify, Maltego, Kali Linux, Nessus, OpenVAS, nmap, MetaSploit or similar tools.
