    QUALITY ENGINEER/MANUFACTURING ENGINEER INTERN

    Looking for a position that demonstrates your high level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult? As a Quality Engineer/Manufacturing Engineer intern atGMyou would drive problem solving and resolutions based on data driven solutions to suppliers and internal customers. Your work would involve functioning as a technical liaison between production operations, engineering, suppliers, and supplier qualityat a GM manufacturing plant.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Interact with production and engineering on part measurement results to part print specifications to assure quality and reliability

    • Ensure effective containment and resolution to identified non-conforming product

    • Communicate emerging issues for responsible components daily toQuality Systems Manager

    • Coordinate repair, rework, and containment activities for identified spills

    • Validate supplier scrap

    • Work withSupplier Practical Problem Solving (SPPS)process on supplier related issues

    • Support the PTR Process by running PTR's and evaluating impact on the product / function

    • Support launch activities of new products

    • Support the implementation and effective adherence to all elements within GMS

    JOB LOCATION

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Engineering

    • Must be graduating between December 2023 and May 2026

    • Proficient in readingpart drawings and interpretation of part measurements

    • Able to work fulltime, 40 hours perweek

    • Willing to work in a plant environment

    • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience

    • Emerging partnership and collaboration skills and ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environment

    • High level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, takes initiative/self-directed

    • Evidence of strong character with integrity, honesty, accountability and trust

    • Consistently demonstrates innovative thinking that is customer-centric

    • Excellent project management skills and the proven ability to manage multiple projects at any given

    THE START DATE FOR THESE INTERNSHIP ROLES ARE FOR MAY & JUNE OF 2023 SPRING/SUMMER INTERNSHIP

    This role offers the following WORK APPROPRIATELY strategies:

    • ONSITE: This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis.
