JOB DESCRIPTION As a part of GM's Human Resources Team you will perform day-to-day HR business activities and provide support in all areas of human resources and labor relations, that align and support our objectives, mission and culture, and assigned business function counterparts. You will work with assigned business functions and or manufacturing facility to improve working relationships, build engagement, increase output, attract, and retain talent. The HR-Labor Relations rotational program will give the individual unique opportunities to experience roles in various areas including Field HR and a HR Center of Expertise (COE). The program offers three (3) rotational assignments here candidates will rotate on average every 12 months pending proven performance in each rotation. As a field HR partner, the candidate may work with both salaried and hourly employees for an assigned business function and or manufacturing facility. This individual will gain a deep knowledge of HR and Labor Relations practices. As a COE expert, the candidate may work with one of our several HR COEs which include Global Talent Acquisition, Labor Relations, Global Talent Development, Compensation and Benefits, Workforce Analytics, DEI, etc. Some examples of responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Support the business or assigned facility in Labor Relations, Hourly Employment and Salaried Human Resources.

    • Partneringwith executives,HR business leaders, and/ orUnionto define a talent identification and management strategy for the assigned businessor facility.

    • Building,facilitating,and executingchange management & organizational development activities.

    • Collaboratingwith designated field representative to complete the HR functional work for your respective business function.

    • Acting asan adviser with functional leaders, providing direction on restructures, specific transformation efforts, job design,workforce/organizationalplanning.

    • Ensuringthat HR provides extraordinary HR service delivery, drives consistency and standard methodology deliverables.

    • Communicatingand educatingour functional leaders and our employees on significant, relevant changes in HR policies and programs.

    • Identifyingtraining and leadership development needs for the business function as a systemic strategy.

    • Actingas a key contributor and change agent in the transformation of HR.

    • Developingnew/creative ideas based on HR knowledge, standard methodologies,and industry trends.

    • Analyzingtrends/metrics to identify problems & develop relevant HR solutions, programs/policies.

    • Understandinglegal requirements at execution level related to management of employees, reducing legal risks,and ensuring regulatory compliance.

    • Servingas an advocate for solutions that are good for both our employee and our business.

    • Holdinga solid knowledge of GM brands, company, function, and products.

    This role offers the following WORK APPROPRIATELY strategies:

    • ONSITE:This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis.
    • HYBRID:This position does not require an employee to be onsite full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired

    ADDITIONAL JOB DESCRIPTION BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor'sorMaster'sdegree in Human Resources, Labor Relations orrelated discipline or equivalent experience/training
    • Graduating between December 2020 and June 2022
    • Ability to display stronginterpersonal skills in facilitation, negotiation,and conflict resolution

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Courses or related experience in Labor Relations
    • Proven ability to work independentlyandtake initiative
    • Demonstrated analytical and project management skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Skill and proficiency in a wide range of HR practice areas.
    • Candidate should be mobile now or in the future as locations for opportunities may vary
