    The Role:

    Global Propulsion Systems Manufacturing Engineering (GPSME) - TRACK Program

    We have a culture of continuous improvement where we strive for operational excellence. As a Manufacturing/Process Engineer you would be responsible for working with other team members on manufacturing processes (designing, specifying, and implementing) using problem solving skills and continuous improvement initiatives on daily basis. You will influence manufacturing process development and definitions, define efficient material flow and process flows, and make new proposals for machinery & equipment in production areas. Your work will directly contribute to the bottom line!    

    Responsibilities:   

    Technical Rotation and Career Knowledge (TRACK) Program for Global Propulsion Systems – Manufacturing Engineering (GPSME) is a developmental program for recent college graduates. The GPSME version of TRACK is designed to provide these incoming employees with relevant manufacturing engineering & manufacturing plant environment experiences in various areas of the business. This will develop a good foundation of knowledge and engineering tools, and help establish a growing professional network from which to progress as a more effective employee in a shorter timeframe and help identify areas of passion and interest to jumpstart your career.   

    Typical assignments in GPSME would entail some combination of the following opportunities:   

    • “PROCESS ENGINEER”  (Early Manufacturing Processes planning/specification)
    • “EXECUTION ENGINEER” (Implementing a Manufacturing Process and deploying Machinery & Equipment at Manufacturing Facilities)
    • Assignment within other GPSME Engineering areas (e.g. Product Interface & Technical Processes; Operational Excellence, Process Physics, Strategic Planning, Global Safety Expert Team, Agile Manufacturing, and more!) and potentially “CAN” include one of:  
    • Focus Factory Engineering role in a manufacturing plant (EE, ME, or IE)  
    • Group Leader (Supervisory) role in a manufacturing plant (Maintenance; Operations (Machining or Assembly); Quality; Global Supply Chain) 
    • Another Manufacturing Engineering center; for a specific exposure relevant to the individual’s development  
    • Assigned Cross-functionally to another function within GM  
    • Assigned to other specific developmental opportunities that may arise or be requested by the TRACK Employee, or by Leadership to address Business needs.

      

    Travel requirements – up to 25% - 50%

    Job locations can be at Manufacturing Engineering headquarters in Warren, Michigan or in various plant locations throughout the U.S.  Work locations may include:

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in one of the following areas: Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Materials Science, Manufacturing, Controls, or Chemical 
    • Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week
    • Willingness to work in a plant environment
    • Graduating between Spring 2021 and Summer 2023

    Pay Transparency:

    • The salary range for this role is $82,500-$95,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
    • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance
