    PLEASE NOTE THAT INTERVIEWS WITH THE HIRING MANAGER WILL NOT TAKE PLACE UNTIL AFTER LABOR DAY (THERE ARE OTHER STEPS HOWEVER, THAT WILL BE SCHEDULED AND COMPLETED PRIOR TO THAT) As a Manufacturing Engineering Global Propulsion Systems Co-Op, you will participate in the GM EXCEL (Exploring Careers through Experiential Learning) Program. Responsibilities include successfully completing all deliverables for your specific project(s),including:completing any/all Corporate Required/Site Specific/Department Specific and anyElectiveTRAINING; gathering and analysis of data/information; development of findings and recommendations; presentation(s)of findings and recommendations to Team and to Leadership. Projects can be within (but not limited to) any of the following areas:

    • Casting/Foundry Manufacturing Processes
    • Engine Machining
    • Engine Assembly
    • Transmission Machining
    • Transmission Assembly
    • Testing & Verification Systems
    • Electrical / Controls Engineering
    • Gaging Systems
    • Gear Engineering & Manufacturing
    • Battery Assembly
    • Fuel Cell Technology
    • Electric Motor Technology
    • Components Manufacturing Engineering
    • Product Interface
    • Process Physics/Simulation

    Performspecificproject/assignment(s)withinaHeadquartersand/ormanufacturingfacilityenvironment. Can include involvement with any of the Propulsion Systems components or assemblies currently being manufactured or, those being developed for future manufacture, and any of the Machinery & Equipment &/or Manufacturing Processes related to them. May include activities such as:

    • Analyzeandmake/purchase components for the best method of manufacture / assembly / test.
    • Propose and/or evaluate manufacturing processes and/or plant layouts for machinery and equipment in assigned area and/or productprogram
    • Direct the design, development, analysis, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes for an assigned area orprogram
    • Provide technical support to Operations,Maintenance, &/or Engineeringpersonnel for specific plant machinery & equipment, including specifications, purchase, runoff, installation, debug, PPAP, and ramp-up activities
    • Regular contact with others outside the assigned work group, and/or outside of GM, asrequired
    • Develop Tooling, Tool Change and/or associated manufacturingprocesses
    • Prepare and deliver reports on work progressand/orrecommendations
    • Gather, analyze and report ondata
    • Troubleshoot,Investigateproblems and recommend/analyze possiblesolutions

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering,Electrical Engineering Technology,Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,Mechanical Engineering Technology,Materials Science Engineering, Computer Engineering,Manufacturing Engineering,orChemicalEngineering
    • Able to work fulltime, 40 hours perweek
