The Resident Engineer will report to the Resident Engineering Lead at the plant. The Resident Engineer will lead reactive machine and design issues and apply advanced problem solving and engineering knowledge to identify risks and create risk mitigation plans to resolve production and quality system deficiencies. The selected candidate will oversee and review project deliverables throughout the project lifecycle ensuring the product meets or exceeds customers' needs and expectations.
Specific Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead teams to identify risks/hazards associated with product designs, processes, applications, applying lessons learned, and assist in the generation of FMEA's and associated Control Plans.
Control plan ownership and maintenance
Employ advanced problem-solving expertise to correct unfavorable variances and communicate alternative measures to
mitigate engineering, timing and/or financial issues.
Coordinate and schedule all special build (PER) and change notice (CN) requests ensuring manufacturing and quality team buy in as required while minimizing the impact to the plant metrics.
Perform CN / PER risk assessments.
Lead quality and customer safety (QCS) preventive and proactive technical tools for occurrence and release (O&R), quality maintenance (X and QM), and reactive/preventive QA Matrices and read across.
Provide technical direction to employees regarding root cause analysis, issue resolution and establish corrective actions serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the manufacturing facility including supplier quality defects.
Create and maintain repair procedures associated with non-standard, non-closed loop repair processes as required including blue dot rework instructions.
Interpret released engineering designs, specifications, materials and standards to ensure functionality and assess risk and author any deviation for engineering specifications generating temporary substitution approval (TSA).
Develop FAT torques for new model, Torque Audit EBOM checks quarterly and reviewing CMM/Adcole audit results for
conformance to control plan.
Support Corporate Quality objectives/deliverables and communicate customer demands to all groups involved to ensure organizational success.
Provide guidance on engine components which are to be held and laid out for inspection/review in Functional Audit including finalizing severity rankings and assisting with QEWO task completion.
Regularly review Torque Audit data for conformity compliance and trend analysis.
Provide direction on dyno failures, QC containments and adherence to traceability requirements.
Authorize allowable repairs and write procedures including blue dot rework instructions.
Approve SWI and proper EMP use / work for quality control and assurance.

Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited university Major(s): Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering. Other four-year engineering or technology degrees in combination with relevant experience will be considered Technical Experience: 3 years of quality, manufacturing, or design/release related experience
