The Transmission Calibration Engineer will be responsible for playing an integral part in developing customer driving experience as well as optimizing fuel economy.
The Transmission Calibrator will work on transmission clutch control and/or drive strategy calibration related activities. The responsibilities can include developing methodologies and tools to support analysis and verification, project management, simulation and analysis, delivery of high quality calibrations from start to finish of new programs, developing and calibrating/validating new features, working with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure that program requirements are met on time, supporting test trips to verify proper transmission operation across different environmental conditions, as well as troubleshooting and developing solutions for issues as they occur.
This position will work in-vehicle test instrumentation, ETAS-INCA calibration tools and mathematical analysis tools such as Matlab, to meet objectives.
Initially work may be focused on project / process management and tool development requiring organization and coding skills.
Trips to Chelsea Proving Grounds in Chelsea, MI will be required along with trips to high altitude, hot conditions and cold conditions that are part of standard practice for transmission calibration engineers. The transmission calibration team is one of the last teams to put hands on a product prior to going to customers. As such, transmission calibration engineers tend to have the highest impact directly on the product, and usually very quickly. Projects frequently occur with a timeline in days or weeks rather than months or years. Having an instant and measurable impact on Stellantis products is all part of a typical workday.
