    Job Responsibilities

    • Work with cross-functional engineering team to coordinate a large 5S event in production facility
    • Collect and analyze production data in order to drive Key Performance Indicator (KPI) improvements
    • Build an analyze capacity models in an effort to optimize throughput
    • Design and maintain floor layout utilizing lean principles
    • Establish Sequence of manufacturing process and product builds
    • Other tasks assigned by Manufacturing Engineering Manager

    AV offers the ultimate hands-on intern experience that will help prepare you for your future. We provide relocation and housing for students out of state and have a 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off).

  • Qualifications

    What you’ll need to succeed:

    • Possess a desire to build things; have a strong engineering aptitude; and thrive working in a team environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Visio, Outlook, and Word - including formatting, data input, data manipulation, formulas, and charting
    • Knowledge of Lean Principles specifically related to 5s
    • Background in statistical analysis for deterministic capacity modeling
    • Ability to build and perform production simulation models is a plus
    • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
    • Effective problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Relevant internship experience a plus
    • Completed coursework relevant to major
    • General engineering fundamentals, mathematics, physics, material properties
